JEE Main Result
The National Testing Agency releases the result of JEE Main. It also releases the cut-off for JEE advanced. A candidate, who scores less than the cut-off, loses the chances to appear for the advanced exam. But it does not mean that you are less than anyone. It is not the end. You still have the options to take admission in NITs, IIITs, and other government colleges.

Unlike, JEE Main, JEE Advanced exam is conducted by one of the IITs. IIT Roorkee is going to conduct the JEE advanced this year on May 19. It is a national level entrance exam. A candidate who is able to crack this examination is eligible to get admission in the top IITs. The JEE exam is conducted in two phases. The first is the JEE Main. While JEE advanced is the second phase of the JEE examination. A candidate can only appear for two consecutive times.
The pattern of JEE advanced exam
Just like the JEE main, the advance is also an online examination. There will be two papers. The duration of each paper is three hours. Both the papers will have three sections, physics, chemistry, and mathematics. The paper will be available in two languages – English and Hindi. There will be negative marking.
Reservation in JEE advanced
A candidate belonging to a category will have the privilege of reservation. Anyone belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PwD/ Defence Personnel can claim reservation.

Eligibility for JEE advanced
A candidate who holds the top ranks is eligible for the advanced exam. A candidate can give the advanced exam only two times in the two consecutive years. Candidates belonging to general category must not be more than 26 years of age. Also, a minimum of 75% marks in 10+2 or equivalent is needed.
The foreign candidates are also eligible for the advanced exam. They do not need to appear for JEE Main. They can apply for the advanced exam directly.

JEE Advanced Application Form
Candidates need to fill the advanced application form. This form is available in online mode only. Only after filling the application form, a candidate is eligible to appear for the JEE advance entrance examination.
Below we are providing the steps in which a candidate can fill the application form.
- Log in with JEE Main Roll Number and Date of Birth.
- Choose a new password to complete registration.
- Fill personal and academic details.
- Mention the number of attempts, exam center, and language of the exam, category, and requirement of a scribe (if any).
Candidates are required to upload some scanned documents.
- Class – X or Birth Certificate
- Class – XII (or equivalent) Certificate
- Category Certificate (if any)
- Additional Category Certificate
- PwD certificate (if applicable)
- Scribe request letter (if any)
- DS Certificate (if any)
- OCI Card/ PIO Card (if any)
After uploading and filling other details, a candidate needs to pay an application fee. A candidate can use either of the options of Debit / Credit / Internet Banking / Cash using SBI branch.
Candidate belonging to reserved category needs to make a payment of Rs. 1300. While for the unreserved candidates, the application fee is Rs. 2600. A foreign candidate from SAARC country needs to pay USD 160. While candidates from Non-SAARC countries need to pay USD 300.
JEE Advanced Admit Card
The admit card for JEE advanced will release in the second week of May. The steps to download the admit card are
- Go to the official website of the JEE advanced.
- Click on the link JEE Advanced 2019 Admit Card
- Enter the registration number and password.
- A page with respective admit card will appear.
- Check the details and take the print out.
Result of JEE advanced
The JEE advanced result will be declared on June 10, 2019. A candidate needs to log in with his/her registration number, D.O.B., mobile number, and email address. A scorecard along with AIR will be there in the JEE advanced result.
JEE Advanced Counselling
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will organize the counselling. A candidate can opt for IITs and ISM Dhanbad. Below is the procedure of counselling process.
- Visit the official JEE advanced link.
- Enter registration number, roll number, D.O.B., and password.
- Online Choice Filling
- Log in to choose branch, course, and institute.
- Lock the final choice.
- Take printout.

The candidates who meet the cut-off in the JEE Main result are eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced exam. Before appearing for the JEE advance, a candidate needs to fill the application form. A candidate needs to fill all the details, upload the scanned documents, and pay the fee. The application fee is different for different categories. One must check for the category-wise payment of the fee.
After the exam is over, the authority will release the JEE advanced result. The selected candidate can check their obtained scores and the AIR. The selected candidates are only eligible for the counselling process. In the counselling process, the candidate can fill their choice regarding the institute and the course.
