The Washington State School Directors’ Association (WSSDA) 2019 conference is a chance to network with other directors and educational professionals and learn how to create sustainable change in the school system. The mission of the association is to empower school districts to provide the tools that students need to succeed in school and life. The association conducts programs to educate and present innovations in school leadership. It also advocates for legislation that will benefit school districts, and ultimately, the students.

Keynote speakers include John Norlin, the founder of CharacterStrong, and will offer an inspirational message about how to create sustainable change in the school system. His specialty is creating connections between students and communities. His passion will empower and ignite district leaders to connect and engage communities surrounding the schools.

Our recommendation is obviously the Hyatt Regency Bellevue on Seattle’s East Side. The conference is being held at this hotel, so it is a convenient place for attendees to stay. You may get a conference rate if you book soon enough. The spacious, modern rooms are the perfect place to relax. The hotel also has everything that you need, including business services, a concierge, free Internet access, a pool, and a fitness center.
There are other nearby hotels you can stay at, including the Westin Bellevue, Hilton Garden Inn and Silver Cloud Inn. They all offer normal amenities you could expect from a hotel in the area.
Bellevue is located near Seattle and offers big-city attractions with a small-town atmosphere. While you are here, you might enjoy the Bellevue Arts Museum, which shows off local craft and design exhibitions. You can stroll in the sculpture gardens. You may also enjoy the Bellevue Botanical Garden that includes a collection of Pacific Northwest plants, woodlands, and wetlands. Bellevue offers plenty of shopping and fine dining experiences. You can also visit nearby Seattle and enjoy the amenities that a larger city has to offer.
